This session was more special to me than most. Michelle and I grew up together and while not really becoming friends until high school, I'm SO glad we did. She has been my bestie since, and I can't imagine life without her! Years later, enter Matt, and I then gained another great friend. I remember talking with Michelle about this guy she met and without even meeting, she was thinking yeah he's the one. And well, here we are 3 years later at their engagement session! It was a joy to capture this sweet relationship.

Michelle and Matt met just before Covid hit. They both attended Seton Hall but somehow didn't bump into each other. It wasn't until after Matt graduated that they matched on Bumble. They met up in South Orange for their first date (as all good Seton Hall alumni do), and were originally just meant to get coffee. They of course hit it off and kept finding ways to keep the date going, until they ended with dinner at the local pizza place. Nowadays, they love a good spontaneous ramen date followed by a movie night snuggled up on the couch with their cat, Kiwi. Or you can find them hiking, exploring, and hitting up a brewery on the way home!

This proposal was a long time coming. Basically, since the day they met, they knew they found their person, but it was time to officially start the next chapter. Michelle and Matt had planned a weekend getaway on their anniversary to upstate New York. Before leaving, Matt suggested they stop at Cait and Abby's in South Orange to grab some cookies. As they walked the sidewalk to the bakery, Matt stopped them in front of the shop where they first met in person 3 years prior. That's when he got down on one knee and asked Michelle to marry him! They then spent their entire trip celebrating and soaking in this special moment.

I've heard from Michelle how much Matt means to her, but getting to hear the person who loves my bestie the most gush over her? There's nothing that could make me happier for her. Matt cannot imagine his life without Michelle. Every hike, good book, and new album is something to be shared with his best friend. I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate them on their big day!
