Ashley and Michael went all out for their engagement session. They knew exactly what they wanted and I had such a good time bringing their ideas to life! They knew they had this gorgeous property to work with and their motorcycles had to be included. It was so lovely to get to know them, especially because Ashley's sister is one of my current brides!
We met up in the morning and I couldn't believe the farm we were able to shoot on. From the pond to the surrounding trees and barns, it was picture perfect. Throw in the motorcycles and leather jackets and Ashley and Michael had a session totally unique to them! They were amazing at putting up with all my posing requests and they absolutely killed it. And really, there's nothing I want more than for all my couples to feel comfortable in front of my camera, and getting these two to embrace it and have a good time was so fun for me!
Ashley and Michael go way back, having gone to the same high school but didn't end up connecting until later. Together, they love to go kayaking, target shooting, hiking, and watch movies. But for them, nothing beats going for a ride on their bikes if the weather is nice! They love to just go out and see where the roads take them with no plan in mind.
The story of their proposal is simple and so sweet. After friends and family asking Michael if he was just going to ask Ashley to marry him already, he knew it was time. Their family had a trip planned to go to Maryland for New Year, and Ashley wondered if she and Michael would go. She was joking with him about their friend just marrying them while they were there like other family members had. As she joked with him and they spoke about the trip, Michael pulled out the ring and said, "Well then we're going to need this!". Ashley was in shock. They kept it between the two of them until Christmas Eve when they shared the news with their family.
Ashley and Michael are so excited for their wedding day, which will be just as tailored to them as their engagement session! It's going to take place in the local firehouse surrounded by family and friends. They cannot wait to celebrate just finally tying the knot after being together for so long! I cannot wait to capture the next chapter in their love story next year!
