What an evening it was with Rachel and Gus during their engagement session! It could not have turned out more perfectly. From the start, Rachel knew she wanted her session at VINS, Vermont Institute of Natural Science, and specifically at the Forest Canopy Walk. Of course, by the sounds of it, I was totally down! It could not have been a more perfect time of year to shoot at the canopy walk, the colors surrounding the paths were so vibrant and stunning. The only thing that made this session even more fun, was a quick outfit and location change, and finishing up at sunset at Quechee Gorge.

Rachel and Gus's relationship started like all modern-day romances, through an app! And hey, I say there's no shame in that! They chatted for a while before meeting up in person. Their first get-together was a bluebird day skiing at Smuggler's Notch. After riding, they chatted for hours and the connection was instantly there. Fast forward to this summer, when they got engaged. Rachel and Gus's proposal story are what Hallmark movies are made of.

It was Gus's first time on a plane as they left for a trip out west to Montana together. They had so many adventures planned and Gus carried the ring everywhere with him, just waiting for the right moment to pop the question. They visited amazing places like the Tetons and Glacier, but it wasn't until their very last hike at Delta Lake that the moment felt right. At the lake, they enjoyed the view as Gus waited for another couple to make it to the lake to snag pictures of it all! Once in position, Gus ushered Rachel to face away from him and by the way his hands were shaking she knew exactly what was happening. She turned around to him on one knee with a huge smile and the ring held up to her. Rachel was giddy with excitement, and they soaked up every moment in that beautiful place together.

They continue to do their favorite things together like skiing and hiking with their dog Boe as they plan their big day! There's nothing more perfect to them, than some live music a good brews. Rachel and Gus are both looking forward to their wedding day, and as they said it, "get hitched in front of our favorite people on earth.". I cannot wait to celebrate with them next spring as they officially tie the knot!
